Safety Analysis of Synergetic Operation of Backfilling the Open Pit Using Tailings and Excavating the Ore Deposit Underground

The transition from open pit mining to underground is essential for mineral resources achieve deep excavation. Recently, cemented paste backfill (CPB) has been proposed as a novel technology (OPB). method not only eliminates the danger of open-pit slope but also reduces disposal waste tailings. In order ensure safe during synergetic operation OPB and mining, it great significance improve this technology. present study, an metal mine in Anhui Province was taken research object. Then, safety stope roofs, pillars, slopes evaluated OPB. To end, numerical simulations were performed experiments conducted on similar physical model. Accordingly, mechanical parameters optimized. obtained results show that height exerts most significant effect roofs accompanied by small displacements along vertical direction process. Moreover, concentration observed at foot slope, while overall structure remained stable with no considerable displacement. factors met requirements. Based results, optimal foundation strength, height, strength 4 MPa, 10 m, 1.5 120 respectively. concluded abovementioned three regions tend be when exceeds 150 m without damage. article provides certain theoretical application guideline practices mines suggests possibilities cleaner production.
